Abstract (EN)

In this study, university students' physical activity and mental health outcomes are examined. The study intends to find out whether regular physical activity among this group helps to improve mental well-being in light of the rising frequency of mental health issues in higher education. The Patient Health Questionnaire-9, the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale, and an international physical activity questionnaire were used in a cross-sectional analytical study to gather data. Lower levels of physical activity and fewer positive self-reported mental well-being indicators were seen among students who self-reported higher degrees of depression. However, a number of drawbacks were noted, such as the possibility of self-report bias, the existence of confounding variables, and the cross-sectional design of the study. In order to demonstrate causal linkages and take into account any confounding factors, these limitations point to the necessity for additional longitudinal study. In conclusion, this study underscores the potential benefits of physical activity in promoting mental health and well-being among university students. The findings provide valuable implications for university administrations and policy makers to prioritize the integration of physical activity opportunities within the campus environment, along with comprehensive mental health support services. By acknowledging the multifaceted connection between physical activity and mental well-being, universities can foster an environment conducive to students' holistic growth and flourishing during their academic journey
