Abstract (EN)
"Identity" based theoretical discussions carried specific to postmodernist and feminist paradigms in 1980s, is considered as an important development for basis of queer theory in 1990s. Most heated debates carried on identity in this period are carried specific to gender identity by LGBTI social movement which is known as "gay" movement in West. Thought of getting through all kinds of identity categories which take place on the basis of intellectual structure of queer theory has directed struggle on gender identity which is main area of fight of LGBTI social movement towards fight against all kinds of categorical expression built by gender identities. Structure of queer theory confronting all kinds of constants is making queer relationship with all sections of social life. Queer theory is establishing one of these relationships with religion. Especially in 1994 and afterwards, positioning of queer as an umbrella concept has enabled opening of religion and religious texts for interpretation by those who define themselves as queer. This thesis study establishing intellectual perspective of theoretic and methodological framework of queer theory is firstly arguing relationship of LGBTI movement with intellectual structure of queer theory and sub-culture categories which is a pattern of struggle of LGBTI movement through which it moves forward on social terrain. Secondly, referring to theological expressions opened for re-interpretation by means of queer theory, it inspects discursive and interpretational change expressions experienced in "religious behaviors focused on sacred texts" towards LGBTI movement. However, this study indicating that discourses expressed for same sex partnerships in Islam theology may undergo a change is, while doing this, aiming to clarify the likes of ideational structures opening sacred texts of Islam theology with queer theology perspective of the individuals defining themselves as queer Muslims in Europe and America in Turkey sample.
