Evaluation of the effects of N-acetylcysteine on asprosin immunoreactivity on A rat ovarian torsion- detorsion model

Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effect of N-acetylcysteine (NAS), which is an antioxidant substance, on ovarian reserve was investigated in rats with torsion detorsion model and asprosin levels were investigated. 35 Wistar Albino female rats were used for our experimental study. Rats were divided into 5 equal groups. Only laparotomy was performed in the Control group. The Sham group was given ovarian sutures. NAS group was given a single dose of NAS 100 mg/kg/day 30 minutes before laparotomy. In the Torsion-detorsion group, ovaries were torsioned for 3 hours and then left in detorsion for 3 hours. In Torsion-detorsion NAS group, ovaries were torsion-detorsed and NAS was given 30 minutes before detorsion. Ovaries and blood samples were taken from all groups and rats were sacrificed. Asprosin immunoreactivity in tissues, asprosin levels, anti müllarian hormon (AMH), total oksidan levels (TOS) in blood were measured. AMH levels were similar in all groups and no statistically significant difference was observed (p>0,05). TOS levels were similar in Control, Sham and NAS groups (p>0,05). When compared with the Control group, TOS levels were increased in the torsion group (p=0,016). When compared with the Torsion group, TOS levels were decreased in the Torsion + NAS group (p=0,032). Asprosin levels were similar in the Control and Sham groups (p>0,05). Asprosin was decreased in NAS (p=0,002), Torsion (p=0,003) and Torsion + NAS (p=0,010) groups (p=0,016). Asprosin levels were increased in the Torsion + NAS group when compared with the torsion group (p=0,008). As a result, it was observed that N-acetylcysteine reduces oxidant damage and is beneficial in torsion. Asprosin protein was associated with ischemia-reperfusion injury, decreased in torsion and increased with NAS administration.
