The effects of experimental intraabdominal hypertension on the kidneys at rats

In normal conditions intraabdominal pressure is equal to atmospheric pressure or a little less. The reasons of intraabdominal hypertension includes: pankreatitis, intraabdominal bleeding, edema, mass, ascites, abcess, aneurisma of abdominal aorta, obesite.Intraabdominal pressure can be measured with direct or indirect methods. The easiest and the less invasive method in these methods is urinary bladder pressure measurement.Intraabominal hypertension effects a lot of systems especially cardiovasculary, respiratory and renal systems. Abdominal compartment syndrome is named if intraabdominal hypertension with organ dysfunction.Abdominal compartment syndrome results mortal if it?s untreated immediately. It?s only one treatment way is decompression.In this study we investigated the effects of experimental intraabdominal hypertension on kidneys in rat. In this purpose, we used 30 male Wistar albino ratsIn group 1 (control group) had 6 rats, the other 3 group had 8 rats. In group 1 and in group 2 (sham group) we didn?t make intraabdominal hypertension. In group 1 we collected intracardiacly 3 cc blood. For three hours we made in group 3 20 mmHg, in group 4 30 mmHg intraabdominal hypertension. In the end of the experiment in group 2, 3 and 4 we collected 3 cc blood intracardiacly. Urea and creatinin levels were measured in all rats. The kidneys were collected to examine histopathologicallyUrea and creatinin levels were higher in group 3 and 4 compered with group 1. This increase was significant statistically (p<0,05). There was no differenc between group 1 and 2 (p>0,05In histopathological examination: group 1 and 2 evaluated as normal. In group 3 there were congestive areas in glomerulles and interstisial regions.
