Özet (EN)

In this study, the changes in serum creatinine, cystatin C, symmetrical dimethylarginine and resistive index parameters were investigated comparatively in cats with signs of renal disease. The study material consisted of 30 cats of different breeds and genders, aged 1.5-5 years, who applied to the clinic and had signs of renal disease. 15 healthy cats were also determined as the control group. Serum cystatin C and symmetrical dimethylarginine values were measured by ELISA in blood samples collected from the cats forming the material, and the resistive index values in these cats were determined ultrasonographically. As a result of the statistical analysis, a significant relationship was found between serum creatinine and symmetrical dimethylarginine, serum symmetrical dimethylarginine and cystatin c parameters, and serum creatinine and cystatin c parameters between the control and study groups. In line with the obtained data, it can be argued that serum creatinine and symmetrical dimethylarginine parameters are important in the evaluation of renal function, both in terms of diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. In conclusion; it was concluded that serum creatinine, symmetrical dimethylarginine and cystatin c are useful parameters in revealing kidney damage, however, detailed studies are needed in terms of resistive index parameter.
