Abstract (EN)
Art may be considered a synthesis of developments and changes around a person, as well as in his or her inner world. The study examines how natural impressions born out of symbolic expressions of environmental, cultural and religious manifestations by primitive people of ancient times gave rise to new trends in the 20th century modern art and affected art stylistically. It reveals the fundamental idea by exploring the literature that laid the intellectual foundation of modern painting art. Analysis of the symbolic use of form in modern painting's accepted primitive approaches, as well as color/form relationship in this process, provided a comparison with the forms of the culture it is based on. Primitive trends, which fall under "Primitive Trends and Art Brut in Painting Art," and the cultural expression that builds a basis for them were examined and presented with examples from painting art. Primitive ways of expression that offer the basis for Art Brut, and central concerns and conclusions in its penchant to becoming an art were presented. The study analyzed ostensibly similar paintings – produced not for the sake of art, but with aspirations of self-expression – in other words, the expressions that embody the naïve, simple and direct perceptions that appear in the paintings of uneducated children who lack normal cognitive activity. It then interpreted the results by comparing them with Art Brut's pioneering approach. Keywords: Primitivizm, Modern Art, Children Paints, Art Brut
