Through the appointment of the official school principals required for relocation director and teacher feedback

General aim of this research is to investigate principals?, deputy principals? and teachers? remarks about the application of compulsory rotation of public school administrators.In this study, qualitative research method was used. The participants of the research consist of 10 principals, 10 deputy principals and 30 teachers who have worked in Kadıköy district in province of İstanbul and were chosen among the teachers, who had been rotated compulsorily, by using the purposeful sampling method. The research was done in spring and fall terms of 2012.Data were collected through the interviews which were made using the semi-structured interview form. Collected data were transferred into electronic media and coded. After being coded, themes were formed and groupings were made under the themes. Inductive descriptive analysis technique, which is one of the qualitative analysis strategies, is used to analyses the gained data of the interviews.Findings from the research indicated that one-half of the principals is pleased with the application while the other half is not. However, all of the principals? laying emphasis on specifically the term of ?compulsory? shows that the expression of compulsion in current application causes some kind of perception of negativity.Following conclusions were reached from the research:The application of compulsory rotation will make a contribution to the institutional development of the schools besides administrators? personal and professional development.Current time period which was defined for the principals and deputy principals in the application of compulsory rotation, lack of criteria, lack of planning, and lack of philosophy can cause negative results.Principals, deputy principals and teachers who participated in the research agreed about the statements of uncertainty of compulsory rotation?s aim, being against equality and lack of criteria.Common statements of the participator principals, deputy principals and teachers about Appendix-2 Administrator Assessment Form indicate that the form is not objective and it is necessary to be added new criteria in addition to editing the current ones.
