Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the impact of mobbing practices by administrators in public and private secondary education institutions on educational efficiency based on teachers' opinions. A qualitative research method and phenomenology design were used in the research. The study group consists of 13 teachers working in public and private secondary education institution in Samsun during the 203-2024 academic year. An interview form, consisting of 6 questions prepared with expert support, was used as the data collection tool. The data obtained from the interview form were analyzed using content analysis method. According to the findings of the study, although the concept of mobbing seems to have different meanings based on various nomenclatures and groupings, it is essentially a problem with significant impacts on both work life and personal life of employee. This concept, which affects almost the entire work life, also manifests itself in the fields of education, becoming one of the main problems of education and educators. The results of this research indicate that the participants associate the concept of mobbing with phenomena such as pressure, humiliation, intimidation, discrimination, and arbitrary behavior. It has been determined that teachers are subjected to mobbing practices by being overloaded with work, experiencing unfairness in the distribution of course schedules and achievement rewards, facing psychological pressure while taking leave, and being assigned irregularly. Factors such as gender, age, seniority, marital status, cultural pressure, branch, differences in social relationships, worldview, personal interests, lack of merit, union differences, and achievement were found to cause these situations. Recommendations for mobbing behaviors include revising manager criteria, implementing deterrent penalties, prioritizing merit, ensuring that the teaching community is well-aware of their rights, and appointing administrators who are respectful of differences and possess strong empathy skills
