Abstract (EN)

Divan was a record where poets in the Classical Turkish Literature collected their poems. One of the Divans that was written in the history is the Divan of Rıbat Baba, written by the Rıfat Baba of Adıyaman who was a 19th century Divan poet. This study aims to introduce Rıfat Baba and his Divan which has never been studied elabourately. To do this, poet's perception of life, understanding of poetry, characteristics and features of his literary style, subjects used in his poets were analysed in the context of Adıyaman and its surroundings where he lived. Both cultural and artistic values of his work aimed to be understood. This study has three chapters. In the first chapter, both poet's life, his conception of art and his works were aimed to be presented. Scribal and corrector of his aforementioned work were also emphasized. In the second chapter, approaches that were followed during the research process were explained. Rıfat Baba Divanı which is composing of 186 pages and the main concern of this study were transcribed and presented with its intralingual translation. Rıfat Baba Divanı provides significant cultural, historical and literary information about 19th century in Adıyaman. The study emphazises the notions shaping the Poet's world of thought and his emotions. Cultural features of his era were sought within his poems as much as he reflected.
