Examination and comparison of arguments of Richard Dawkins and Antony Flew about God

God has been one of the most fundamental subjects accompanying humanity in the world of thought. Throughout history, we see that different concepts are exhibited when God is called. Theism, atheism, deism, etc. In this study, we tried to examine Richard Dawkins, who is one of the important representatives of atheism in the face of the idea of god, and Antony Flew who put forward ideas under the idea of atheism for a long time, but left the idea of atheism after adopting a deist understanding. The aim of this study is that the idea of "new atheism" which became a new formation in atheism with the understanding of deism, which became widespread especially after the 19th century and whose followers are increasing rapidly today, has an effective position in the mind world of our age. The ideas of our thinkers will be examined philosophically. This study consists of an introduction and two parts. In the introduction part, information about the purpose, methods and sources of our study is given. In the first chapter, brief information about the areas related to our subject is given. The importance of concepts has been put forward; whether a conception of God is possible; the reasons affecting the imaginations; the epistemic value of the imaginations revealed; what science and religion is and whether its limits exist are discussed; Finally, the situation of theodise problem against the idea of god was evaluated. In the second chapter, Richard Dawkins' "The God Delusion" and Antony Flew's "I was wrong there is a God," books are the main sources; the lives of our thinkers are introduced; general attitudes about god; their gaze on the evidence of god was examined; religion and its thoughts on the language of religion were examined; their ideas about morality and consciousness are discussed.
