Science and political philosophy in Richard Rorty's views

Richard Rorty has seriously criticized the traditional conception of philosophy, which he calls "the mirror of nature", beginning with Plato and following it up to Descartes, Kant, and other analytic philosophers. He approached philosophy with a therapeutic method, saying that the problematics of traditional philosophy, such as the nature of mind and subject-object separation, should be left aside rather than solved. Thus, he described the theory of "reality", which is the most debated subject of epistemology, as social practice rather than as a direct reflection of the outside world. This approach has led him to politicize pragmatism in his thinking. Thus, he demonstrated the version of pragmatism that might be familiar to Philosophers by defining pragmatism as a type of thought that makes the requirements of political liberalism conducive. Rorty, who thought it was time for Liberal democracy to depart from Enlightenment rationalism said that philosophy failed to present universal and immutable arguments that could guarantee the supremacy of democracy. He approached the philosophy of Science in the same way with his postmodernist and pragmatist views. Instead of the "strong theory of rationality" described in the framework of theories such as certainty, objectivity and Methodism discussed in the philosophy of science, he placed the "weak theory of rationality" described in the framework of the social agreement that does not require power. Thus, he has constructed a scientific political philosophy that does not involve Enlightenment rationality.
