A research aimed at the management of the hotel enterprises during risk and crisis periods

The aim of this study is the determination of crisis and risk concept which threats the target sand the existence of the lodging enterprises, distresses the managers and has multiple interests and complex structure. The study is divited into eight categories. In the first part there is general information about the study which has been done. In the second part, the characteristics, the structure and the importance of lodging enterprises have been examined. In the third part, the characteristics, the structure and the importance of lodging enterprises have been determined. In the fourth part, the structure of the hotel enterprises in Turkey and the contribution of the hotel enterprises in Turkey to the Turkish economy have been examined. In the fifth part, first the concept of crisis has been explicated, and then the crisis intourism sector and the processes of the crisis management have been examined, and crisis and the issues of the crisis management have been evaluated in point of lodging enterprises. In the sixth part, the concept of risk has been explicated and the factors which cause financial failure in lodging enterprises have been determined. In the seventh part, the concept of the risk management has been explicated and its importance in point of the operational risk management and tourism enterprises has been determined. In the eigth and the last part, a survey has been applied to 5 or more star hotel enterprises in seven different reigons of Turkey for examining activities performed before, during and after crisis period and determining the problems and their solutions. With this applied study, the effect of crisis has been examined on lodging enterprises and the perspective of managers to crisis, their thoughts on tourism and the crisis management strategies applied before, during and after crisis have been determined.
