Abstract (EN)

Examination of The Effects of Stabilization Exercises Done with Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation on Lumbopelvic Control, Pain And Disability. Hacettepe University, Graduate School of Health Sciences, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Program, Master Thesis, Ankara, 2018. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of stabilization exercises with rhythmic auditory stimulation on lumbopelvic control, pain and disability level in individuals with low back pain. 20 individuals with low back pain included the study. The individuals divided randomly into experimental group that practice stabilization exercises with rhythmic auditory stimulation and control group that practice just stabilization exercises. Both the groups received intervention for 3 times per week for 6 weeks. All subjects were evaluated two times before treatment and at the 6th week. Lumbopelvic control evaluated by measuring thickness of Transversus abdominis (TrA) and Multifidus (MF) muscle with ultrasonographic imaging, pain evaluated with Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and disability level was evaluated with Oswestry Disability Index. After treatment in both groups TrA and MF muscle thickness increased significantly (p<0.05). But when we compared two groups, the differences of thickness increase in TrA and MF in experimental group was significantly (p<0.05) higher than control group. Pain and disability level decreased significantly (p<0.05) in both groups. But the difference of reduction of pain and disability level in experimental group was significantly (p<0.05) higher than control group. As a result, our study shows that practicing stabilization exercises with rhythmic auditory stimulation on individuals with low back pain is more efficient than stabilization exercises. Therefore, inclusion of stabilization exercises with rhythmic auditory stimulation to treatment programs is viable.
