In this study, the effect of Digital Game Based Learning (DGBL) approach on vocabulary acquisition was examined by using Quizizz, which is a learning platfrom that offers multiple tools to learn vocabulary by playing interactive games, as a Digital Game Based Learning tool to develop the english vocabulary of students studying in the prepatory class at a university in İstanbul. In this study, which lasted 16 weeks in total, 40 students took part. In this research, Quizizz was taught in a classroom with 20 students in the experimental group, while 20 students in the control group were taught in another classroom using the traditional method. After the tests were carried out on the students, a survey was conducted with the focus group. The data obtained in this research was analyzed statistically. The result of the research revealed that the vocabulary acquisition of the experimental group students in the class taught with Quizizz learned more words compared to the control group students who were taught with the traditional method, and the positive effect of Digital Game-Based Learning (DGBL) on the learning process was revealed.
