Abstract (EN)

The Russians shaped their lives according to their pagan beliefs from the time they emerged until they accepted Christianity. Although Christianity aimed at suppressing and eliminating these beliefs, paganism continued to exist in the background and repeat itself. Since paganism is a belief system that takes its power from nature, it has a never-ending and constantly repeating structure and it is difficult to forget or suppress. Considering most beliefs and special days that exist and celebrated in Russia today, contains many conditions from the pagan era. At the same time, the gods or special figures in the pagan belief system managed to continue with a Christian identity. With this study, it will be tried to explain what pagan beliefs exist in the feasts and other special occasions that are celebrated in Russia today and are known to belong to Christianity. Keywords: Christianity, mythology, Paganism, Russia, Slavs
