Abstract (EN)

Classical Turkish literature, which has been going on for centuries and embodies a rich culture, brings us new representatives today. Rushdi, whose name we have not come across until today in resource and whom we will unearth with this thesis, is also a part of this rich cultural heritage. The only source we have access to about the life of the poet, whose real name was Mustafa Rushdi, is the "Şiir Kulliyâtı" he wrote. The poet, who we think is from Çorum, is an accounting clerk who lived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and did not break away from tradition at that time, when classical Turkish literature lost its old value by changing with the Westernization movement. It is probable that the poet, who dealt with religious-sufistic topics in his poems, adopted the Qadiri sect as he stated that his sheikh named Şeyh Ali was affiliated to Abdulkadir Geylani. The date of writing of this Kulliyât, which is in Mehmet Fatih Köksal's personal library, is not included in the historical artifact. However, based on the fragments of information in his poems, it is clear that they were written in different time periods. The Şiir Kulliyâtı, which he wrote in the author's calligraphy, is Rushdi's only existing work. Consisting of 337 pages, the language of the Kulliyât is simple and comprehensible in general, but it is also seen that it becomes heavy in some verses. Rushdi, who aimed to give a message to the reader and listener on the grounds of the localization movement and ''Hikemî'' style, gave importance to meaning rather than form in his poems, and therefore made many mistakes in the rules of verse form and prosody. The poet, who gave more importance to understanding, wrote poems on the love of Allah, the love of the prophet, the desire for reunion, the beauty of love, wahdat, separation, expatriation, hardship and heroism. In addition, in this period of war and poverty, he mirrored the period by describing people living under difficult conditions and the dissatisfaction of the conditions they were in. With this study, the transcribed text of the poems in the Kulliyât was created and analyzed in terms of form and content, and the life and literary personality of Rushdi, about whom there is no information in the sources, was determined based on his poems. Thus, a new poet with the pseudonym Rushdi and this work, which we call "Şiir Kulliyâtı", which contains the poet's individual poems, has been tried to be brought to classical Turkish literature.
