The first of these two interventions is Georgia, which is the first Russian military intervention outside the territory of Russia after the Cold War, and other is the Syrian intervention that is first in the outside Russia's neer abroad. Both interventions provide important clues about Russian foreign policy in terms of reasons and consequences.
