Abstract (EN)

Latifs discussed in the work called Mecmua-ı Letaif written by Sa'deddin Shirazi; examples of poems, stanzas, masnavi, nazm, verse and couplet examples given to support these latifs; historical and literary personalities whose names are mentioned in the latifs in the work have been identified in the place and person index. The work has been transferred to today's alphabet with transcription letters. When the translation of this work is examined, it is seen that the latife tradition continues in the literature. According to the findings obtained in this study, traces of all kinds of latifes were found. That is to say, obscene latifes, hunter latifes, animal latifes, which we can call a kind of fable, madman latifes, teacher-student latifes, Rafizi-Sunni latifes, atheist-religious latifes, sheikh-disciple latifes, Christian-Muslim latifes, and latifes formed with answers given with quotations from the Qur'an were identified. It is also possible to come across Persian couplets and verses in latifes. Turkish equivalents of some of these couplets and verses are given after the expressions "namely" or "translation". Some couplets and verses are given in their Persian original without translation. As a result of the research, it is concluded that the role of the latife tradition in meeting people's need for laughter and parable continues in the period in which the work was written. It is suggested that studies should be conducted to analyze the latifas available in the literature in terms of the presence of idioms in Sa'deddin Shirazi and to transfer the idioms used in the past to the present.
