Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to compare yield and quality of cotton cultivarsplanted in seed mixes with two cultivars and in pure lines Treatments were arrangedin randomized complete block with three replications.The highest seedcotton yield by 323 kg/da was observed in the blends of SG-125 and DPL 499 cultivars, while lowest seedcotton yield by 237 kg/da wasobserved in the blends of DPL 419 and SG-125 cultivars.The highest lint yield by 142 kg/da was observed in the blends of SG-125 andDPL 499 cultivars, while lowest lint yields by 107 and 104 kg/da, respectively, wereobserved in the blends of DPL 419 and SG-125 cultivars.As in the cultivar blends of SG-125 and DPL 499 was attained the same levelof pure lines of SG-125 in yields, the combination of two cultivars were more likelyto exhibit increased seedcotton and lint yields in terms of crop safety.The cultivar blends of SG-125 and DPL 499 exhibited similar fiber strengthcompared to the %100 DPL 499. As in the cultivar blends of DPL 41 and SG-125was attained to lower fiber fineness, the blends of two cultivars were more likely toexhibit desired fiber finenessKey Words :Cotton, Pure Lines, Blending of Cultivars, Yield, Fiber Quality
