Şafak Ural and positivism

This study aims to investigate the Vienne Circle positivism by considering the works of Şafak Ural, who has been trained in the scope of philosopy in our country and, particularly his views and evaluations on Positivism. Firstly the historical background of positivism, its place and influence upon the history of Western and Turkish thought are tried to be investigated and illuminated. In the later chapters Ural's researches and some of his results that came out on positivism are made known and in the consequence of Ural's studies, his opinions on positivism together with chaos theory and fuzzy logic are exposed. In Conclusion part, Ural's views on Vienne Circle, positivism and the results of these opinions are open to debates. Keywords: Şafak Ural, Vienne Circle, metaphysics, chaos theory, fuzzy logic.
