Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine work-family conflict levels and perceived social support levels as predictors of depression in healthcare worker women, and to determine whether there is a relationship between work-family conflict and depression symptoms and between perceived social support and depression symptoms. This study, which is a cross-sectional study in the relational screening model, was conducted with 296 women working at Eskişehir City Hospital between 16 October and 16 December 2023. Data; It was collected by using the "Personal Information Form", "Work-Family Conflict Scale (WCAS)", "Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale (MSPSS)" and "Beck Depression Inventory (BDI)" and by face-to-face interview. In line with the results obtained, it was determined that working women experienced moderate levels of work-family conflict, high levels of social support perception, and mild depression symptoms. It was found that among working women, job satisfaction and the time allocated for domestic responsibilities were related to work-family conflict, perception of social support and depression levels. There is a positive significant difference between depression symptoms and work-family conflict in working women; A significant negative relationship was found between depression symptoms and perception of social support. As work-family conflict increases in working women, the level of depression increases; As the perception of social support increases, the level of depression decreases. In this regard, it is recommended that depression in working women be reviewed in the context of work-family conflict and social support perception, and that risk factors be identified and empowerment studies be carried out.
