Abstract (EN)
Legionella pneumophila is a bacteria that settles on the plumbing systems of the large buildings such as school, hospital, hotel and spreads to humans by the respiration of the contamined water drops that goes out from the outsources of the plumbing system such as taps and shower heads. They cause legionnaires? disease which is an important lung infection on old patients that smoke more than a pack of cigarettes a day and are addicted to alcohol or those whose immunity system have been pressurized. As legionnaires? disease develops like flu and pneumonia, success of the cure can only be obtained by the use of a strong antibiotic because of the delays with the diagnosis of the disease. In this study, 92 people working in January 2013 Şehitkamil Devlet Hastanesi were evaluated in terms of infection. Individuals included in the study of age, gender, level of education, work services were recorded. Legionella pneumophila antibody investigated by ELISA. As a result, the opening of a new hospital, the hospital complied with the rules of hygiene in the hospital due to the employees to be younger and legionella infection was observed in any of the hospital staff.
