The relationship between the fear of COVID-19 and constant anxiety levels of health workers: The case of Mersin

This study was conducted for the purpose of examining health workers' coronavirus fear and persistent anxiety levels based on variables related to socio-demographics and coronavirus pandemic, and determining the association between coronavirus fear and persistent anxiety levels. The research was conducted using the snowball sampling method with the participation of 380 health workers working in various health institutions in the central districts of Mersin province (Mezitli, Yenişehir, Tarsus, Akdeniz). The study used the relational scanning model included within the general scanning models, while the survey technique often used from scanning models was used to collect data. Research data were collected online using "Coronavirus Fear Scale" and "Persistent Anxiety Inventory" through "Google documents" through forms.google.com. As a result of the research, the coronavirus fear level of healthcare workers was found to be "moderate," while persistent anxiety levels were found to be "low."The study found that coronavirus fear and persistent anxiety levels in health care workers differed based on various socio-demographic variables. As a result of the research, the association between coronavirus fear levels of healthcare workers and persistent anxiety level was not determined.
