Examining death anxiety, loneliness, and attitudes toward death according to vulnerable narcissism levels of healthcare professionals

This thesis aims to examine the relationship between healthcare workers' vulnerable narcissism levels and their death anxiety, loneliness, and attitudes toward death. In accordance with this purpose, a total of 326 healthcare workers between the ages of 18-61 participated in this study. Data were collected from the participants through a questionnaire consisting of the The Vulnerable Narcissism Scale, The Death Anxiety Scale, The UCLA Loneliness Scale, The Attitude Toward Death Scale, and Demographic Information Form. As a result of the analyses conducted to see the relationship between the levels of vulnerable narcissism and death anxiety, loneliness, and attitudes toward death, a significant difference was found between the levels of vulnerable narcissism and the physical change sub-dimension of death anxiety, between the levels of vulnerable narcissism and loneliness, and between the levels of vulnerable narcissism and the neutral acceptance sub-dimension, escape sub-dimension, and fear of death and avoidance of death sub-dimension of the attitude toward death. The results obtained from the analyses were further discussed in the context of the literature.
