Özet (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine the attitudes of health care workers working in Kırşehir province who are qualified to be members of civil servant unions towards civil servant unions and the factors affecting their membership. This study aims to make significant contributions to the literature by determining the attitudes of healthcare workers towards trade unions and understanding their motivations for becoming a member of trade unions. It is also expected that the findings of this study will help to better understand the processes of union organization in the health sector and to develop recommendations to increase the effectiveness of union activities. Face-to-face survey technique, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. The scope of the research consists of a total of 385 health care workers working in health institutions operating in Kırşehir province. Among the scales used in the research, the "Reasons for Union Organization Scale" consists of 15 questions and 3 sub-dimensions, and the "Union Attitude Scale" consists of 20 questions and 3 sub-dimensions. The answers given to the questions in the scale were graded in a 5-point Likert scale; 1 - Strongly disagree, 5 - Strongly agree. The data obtained were uploaded to the SPSS program and descriptive statistics, normality test, exploratory factor analysis, independent sample t test, one-way variance analysis and correlation analysis were applied in the evaluation of the findings. When the findings obtained from the research are evaluated, significant differences were observed between union organization and education level in terms of demographic factors. Although no differences were observed between the scales and variables such as age, gender, working time, position, union membership and membership period, differences were observed in some sub-dimensions. No statistically significant relationship was found between union attitudes and reasons for union organizing. However, there was a relationship between the total score of union organizing and the sub-dimensions of union attitude at 0.01 significance level. It may be useful for unions to develop more customized communication and training solutions for members with different educational levels. In addition, based on the lack of correlation between union attitudes and reasons for union organizing, it is recommended that further studies be conducted to better understand members' motivations for organizing. By conducting detailed surveys and interviews, union goals and strategies can be identified. Keywords: Health Worker, Trade Union, Trade Union Organization, Trade Union Attitude
