Qality, patient satisfaction and patient nurse relations in health services

In recent years, ?Continuous Quality Improvement Search? started in industrysector has been also seen in health sector. It?s because such factors as competition isincreased, the income of people become higher, the patients become conscious, andthe health insurance is developed. The institutions that want to survive in an intensecompetition environment have started to do their jobs thoroughly and to place themanagement, patient satisfaction.required importance on patient satisfaction. Besides, qualifying the health servicequality and patient satisfaction is intensely considered for years. The interest inqualifying the patient satisfaction is also increased in Turkey.Patient satisfaction is a complex concept that is affected by various factors;and it?s one of the most important indicators of quality patient care. Since thetheories concerning patient satisfaction are insufficient, the patient satisfaction isgenerally based on fulfilling the patient expectations by offered service or on theperceptions of patients regarding offered service. Hence, it?s emphasized in theliterature that the foundation of patient satisfaction is based on patient expectationsand patient-nurse relations on a large scale.This study is aims at evaluating one of the nursing services, namely patientsatisfaction, which is one of the most important indicators and criteria of total qualitymanagement in health services for the purpose of providing an insight to ourcountry?s health services system and its problems.Key Words :Health sector, total quality management, patient satisfaction.patisatisfaction.Health sector, total quality
