Total quality management in health care services

Great discoveries, important work, many ideas that changed the world have been especially emerging with the actions of people with a specific driving composition which consists of the external perspective and deeply personal responsibilities and duties. Long struggles, trials, mistekes and ultimately sacrifices are hidden behind the convenience discovered and offered to the service of humanity from past to present. In this sense, health workers showing intensive laboring in the delivery of health services, have been maintaining their dedicated efforts with mission undertaken in the construction of qualified community to maintain a healty life for individuals and society. Main objective of health care systems and their sub-systems are to develop and provide preventive health services for maintaining healthy and quality life for individuals and communities. Health instutions which have an important place in health care services, provide the health services needed by people with diagnosis, treatment, care and rehabilitation services. Total quality management is extremely important for prevention of mistakes before occuring, and providing qualified health care services due to human factor which is the main element of health care services, an intolerance of failure for human life, and sometimes errors made in health facilities that cost to human life. Quality of health care, value, customer satisfaction, and customer's need for a high quality health care have been emphasized in health care services, products and services will may have been risen and productivity will have been increased can be said with service quality perceived by customer and customer satisfaction through requests and expectations by TQM. To provide quality medical care and continuous improvement of quality with TQM is patient satisfaction at the optimum operating conditions of effective employee orientation and the available resources while maintaining the patients' pleasure. It is determined that resources have used effectively, inappropriate applications have decreased in medical treatment and care process, quality have been perceived by employees as a philosophy of life, and attitudes and behavior of health care personnel in this process, informing patients, and patient satisfaction provided by shortening the healing process, and all of this have affected the overall performance of the hospital in a positive way in hospital businesses offering health services which perceive the TQM as a life style.
