Abstract (EN)

In the social sense, it is possible to raise the awareness of individuals on health-related issues, to access basic health information, and to evaluate the information they have acquired correctly, by increasing the level of health literacy of individuals. Health literacy has a relationship with many factors affecting health. Health literacy; health professionals, health managers, health institutions and many other health stakeholders, as well as individuals, is an important issue. Health literacy is important in terms of creating social awareness of health, efficient use of resources allocated to health, satisfaction of people receiving health services and many other aspects. The aim of this thesis is to test whether health literacy differs significantly according to X, Y and Z generations and to reveal whether health literacy differs according to some demographic variables. In this context, the findings that emerged as a result of the analyzes made with the data obtained by using the convenience sampling technique are explained. The data obtained were analyzed by the SPSS program; In this context, frequency analysis, Factor Analysis, t-test and ANOVA tests were applied. As a result of the factor analysis on health literacy, 5 dimensions were determined. Among these dimensions, a significant difference was found according to gender in the dimensions of understanding social media news about health and giving importance to healthy living. As a result of the ANOVA analyzes conducted to test the differences of health literacy dimensions according to generations, it was seen that there were significant differences according to generations in terms of understanding social media news about health and evaluating their own health status. In addition, it has emerged as a result of the research that education, income, occupation and health insurance status show some significant differences according to generations.
