In literature, there are several studies focusing on the relationship between big five personal traits and psychological resilience. However, the studies researching this relationship solely in healthcare professionals are rare. Therefore, this study will be an innovative study for the literature to examine the personality traits and psychological resilience of healthcare professionals. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the personality traits and psychological resilience. This study has six hypotheses: 1) resilience and neuroticism are negatively correlated, 2) resilience and extraversion are positively correlated, 3) resilience and consciousness are positively correlated, 4) resilience and openness to new experience are positively correlated, 5) resilience and agreeableness are positively correlated 6) big Five personality traits significantly predict psychological resilience. The sample of the study consists of 412 healthcare professionals. Resilience is measured by the averages of Brief Resilience Scale and the Five Factor Personality traits measured by the averages of Adjectives Based Personality Scale. As a result, a negative correlation was found with resilience and neuroticism. A positive relationship was found between resilience and extraversion, conscientiousness and openness to new experiences. However, no relationship was found between resilience and agreeableness. In addition, the neuroticism and extraversion, significantly explain resilience; openness to experience, agreeableness and conscientiousness did not significantly explain psychological resilience.
