Abstract (EN)

In the struggle against epidemic diseases, the effective allocation of limited resources is as important as medical treatment. In order to be ready for epidemic diseases, interception methods need to be well known and resource allocation models that allocate limited resources at hand have to be available. In this work, the pandemic influenza illness, which repeated many times in history and has caused the death of millions of people in history and has the probability to repeat itself according to World Health Organization?s reports, is examined for the resource allocation problem. The most important interception methods in struggling the influenza illness are intensive care units, ventilators, and hospital beds. Moreover, antiviral medicines and preventive vaccinations are other important resources that are employed in struggling the illness. In this study, the estimations which are related to number of deaths, number of cases and the total morbidity days are made by the aid of mathematical models during a possible pandemic influenza.
