Samsun State Classical Turkish Music Chorus examination of concert repertoories

Everything that societies pass on to future generations can be defined as culture. The protection, protection, preservation and intergenerational transfer of cultural structure should be among the primary objectives of societies. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, which is one of the leading institutions of our country, provides this mission to a great extent. With the repertoire selection of the state choirs it houses, it is aimed to sustain, protect and keep the values alive. In this study, it is aimed to determine from which maqam, form and period the works are included by examining all the concert repertoires of the Samsun State Classical Turkish Music Choir, which is affiliated to the General Directorate of Fine Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. For this purpose, the data were obtained by scanning the archive records of the concert repertoires of the Samsun State Classical Turkish Music Choir. The research is a descriptive study, limited to the repertoire of Samsun State Classical Turkish Music Choir, using qualitative and quantitative methods based on the scanning model. As a result of the findings obtained from the research; It has been concluded that in the choir's 31-year concert repertoire, works from the Hijaz Mode, Song Form and Romantic Period are predominantly preferred.
