Abstract (EN)

Identity which is an expression of individual's self defınition and positioning himself in sociaty has been affected by all the changes that people göne throuhhout the history. Religion has became one of human's identity along with his existence. Virtual identites has appeared as a new identity type with the technological developments and digital revolutions today. Adolesence whıch is the most important period of one's identity formation is extremly important for development of virtual identity and religious identity. Life safisfaction and anxiety levels of individuals in this period will also affect their future mental health conditions, the subject of this research is examination the relationship between religious identity, virtual identity, life safisfacion and anxiety variables in adolesence. At the same tıme it was examined wheter these variables has a significant relationship with demographic variables such as gender, age, school type, residence, monthly income of the famıly, purpose of social media usage, hours of social media useage or not, the sample group of the study consists of a total of 606 students, 303 girls and 303 boys, who study at different types of hıgh school in various districts of İstanbul. Schools are grouped as imam hatip hıgh schools and others in terms of taking religious education. The reseach data were collectedwith the questionnaire technique and personal information form, religious identity scale, virtual identity scale, life safisfaction scale and anxiety scale were used in the questionnaire form. According to the results of the reseach, virtual identity is positive predictor of life safisfaction religious identity is not a significant predictor of life safisfaction anxiety. Relationships between main variables and demographic variables were examined the results obtained were evaluated and some suggestions have been made.
