The effect of the artist biographies on the learning processes of the students in the preschool period and the effectiveness proposals

Visual arts class is a field of study that needs to be enriched by blending the different fields of the plastic arts. However; during the pre-school period, the visual art class completes the education with the intense of the certain fields. Mostly, one of the cognitive domains which are omitted is that the biographies and works of the artists are not taught during the pre-school period. During this period, the visual arts and class teachers, who don't give the information about the biographies and works of the artists in painting classes, expect that the 4-5 years old students depicture the given subjects and paint, cut and stick on them. The aim of the research is to provide the students to make interpretation in a cognitive way about the biographies, works and characteristics structures of the artists by enriching the contents of the visual arts class and thus; it aims to increase the permanence and to answer the questions like "who is the artist?, What do they do? and tell the artists you know". It has an important place in order that the students can be more willing and productive during the art education. The pilot scheme was carried out by being prepared the scales of the research. In the light of this pre-study; thanks to the teaching in its field, the research was submitted to approval of the ethical committee by being made up the deficiencies and being corrected the mistakes in the scales. After the necessary permissions were taken, 9 weeks of practice was applied with the participation of 10 volunteer students who occur from the volunteer mixed group which is made from 4-5 years old students from the pre-school education. The students' interpretations about the biographies and works of the artists were observed through the observations and interviews. The data which were released in the process were interpreted with the content analysis, descriptive analysis and being solved percentage calculation. After the practice with the students, the toys which are thought by the researcher that they are educational were designed in the light of the studies which were released.
