Abstract (EN)

Since the states were officially established on the earth, they have been in constant struggle with each other until this time. The countries since the first use of firearms, they have aimed to have this power and they have begun to work on this field. Growth of countries has invaded other lands, and calls for resources have led to war situations between countries. The wars that took place in different geographies of the period were influenced by First World War all over the world. The importance given by the countries to the defense industry during First World War is evident in the winning states of war. The countries after the First World War, they have tried to increase defense industries in order to protect themselves and prepare themselves for a future war. The second World War, which had not come a long time ago, is seen as a period in which defense technology has increased even more. The use of the Atomic Bomb by the United States during second World War has shown the world progress in the defense industry. This thesis deals with the economic dimension of military expenditures. This will economic growth examines the impact of military spending on the determinants. An analysis was made for the countries which are the leading for this defense expenditures Germany, İtaly,South Korea, and Turkey. As a result of the analysis, it is argued what importance to give importance to military defense and defense industry has had in the name of economic growth.
