Aim: Low back pain is a common problem in all occupational groups. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence and risk factors of low back pain among SBU Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital employees. Materials and Methods: The population of the study consists of physicians, nurses, automation personnel and cleaning personnel working in SBU Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital. The sample volume was determined as 324 by determining P = 0.50, 95% confidence interval and 47% of expected frequency in Epi Info 7 statistical program. The total number of employees reached is 276. A questionnaire was applied to the participants in which their demographic characteristics and low back pain were questioned. Data were analyzed with SPSS 22 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences 22.0). The results were obtained by chi-square analysis. Results: The incidence of lifelong low back pain (PCD) was 68.1% and the prevalence of lifelong current low back pain was 41.0%. There was a significant relationship between the prevalence of PCD and gender, smoking, working year, sports status and low back pain was determined as a risk factor. Conclusion: Lifelong low back pain and lifelong current low back pain prevalence were found to be high in health care workers. At the same time, factors related to low back pain were determined and it was tried to contribute to the acquired knowledge on this subject.
