Abstract (EN)
Results: Phe- and KCl-induced contractile responses in the thoracic aorta were not significantly decreased in MGO-administered group, compared to controls. MGO administrartion significantly inhibited the relaxation response induced by ACh, while the relaxation to SNP was not significantly altered. In addition, eNOS and p-eNOS expressions decreased significantly in arteries obtained from MGO administered rats. The impaired endothelium-dependent vasodilatation as well as decreased expressions of eNOS and p-eNOS in vessels obtained from MGO group rats were significantly improved by melatonin treatment. Key words: Endothelial dysfunction, methylglyoxal, melatonin
