Abstract (EN)

In this study, has been subject the basic characteristics of elective religion courses as a new orientation and application in Turkey's religious education policy. Inaddition, the historical and ideological background, which is thought to contribute to the analysis and determination of the fundamental qualities of elective religious courses on a healthier basis, has also been the subject of the study. Inthis context, in this research, the religious and religious education policies in the history of the Republic, the main issues that come to the fore front in the religious courses, the discussion are as about the DKAB courses, and finally the social expectations for the elective religious courses are revealed through the related literature. In the analysis aimed at determining the basic qualifications of elective religious courses, the Basic Religious Studies course was determined as the sample area, the content of the course was analyzed by qualitative content analysis method and the findings were evaluated within the determined categories. As a result, within the framework of changing religious education policies, in the elective religious courses, a relatively new religious understanding of the DKAB courses, focusing on the Qur'an, Sunnah, and a certain worldview, introducing many new subjects, and in all the sea spects, the courses meet the social expectations significantly was determined.
