An expert system design for diabetics that can be used on mobile phones

Diabetes is a disease that requires continuous monitoring and control. Patients and their families must rebuild their life according to the diabetes. In this study patient follow-up, control and routine medical examination have been actualized by an expert mobile system.In this thesis, the data about diabetes and its control, treatment and follow up, were collected. Then literature was scanned, the forms and expert system engine were designed. To save the data in the database permanently Record Management Store (RMS) is used instead of database for more platforms? support.The software has developed on Oracle NetBeans 6.9 software development platform. Also for mobile application library, Oracle Java Platform Micro Edition SDK 3.0.5 was used. CLDC/MIDP, DefaultCldcPhone1 was chosen as emulator.The developed softare has been used by diabetics on a voluntary basis. As a result, it has been observed that the diabetics can comply more easily to the diet lists, times of measurement and food, and their average for glucose is rather proximate to normal value.
