Abstract (EN)

İntracranial atherosclerosis is one of the most common causes of stroke and is associated with a high risk of recurrent ischemic attack. Medical methods and control of risk factors are recommended as first treatment option. Endovascular approach may benefit patients with recurrent symptoms despite medical treatments. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and complication rates of endovascular treatment with Enterprise stent (Codman Corporation, Miami Lakes, FL, USA). 25 patients with intracranial atherosclerotic disease treated with Enterprise stent via endovascular route in our deparment were included in the study. The clinical and radiological findings of each case before endovascular treatment and the clinical and radiological findings of the patients during and after the follow-up period were determined. Major procedure-related complications during the periprocedural period (30 days) were encountered in 2/25 (8%) cases. In the postprocedural period (after 30 days), the rate of ischemic complication was 3/25 (12%). No patient suffered from intracranial bleeding or died during the follow-up period. Stent restenosis was seen in 2/25 (%8) of the patients. Combined neurological morbidity rate was %12 in periprocedural and postprocedural period. The use of Enterprise stent is a treatment modality in patients with persistent symptoms despite medical treatment, with low risk of mortality and morbidity if appropriate patient selection is made.
