تفسير القرآن العظيم لشمس الدين محمَّد المصري الشافعيلسور: فُصِّلت والشُّورى والزُّخرف دراسةً وتحقيقاً

The aim of this thesis is to investigate a manuscript on the interpretation of the Qur'an by the author Shams al-Din al- Masri - who died in 896 AH. As for the scope of the study was the part related to the interpretation of Suras: Fusilat, Shura and Az-Zukhruf. The distinction of the manuscript comes from the fact that it reflects the culture of the author's era, for which no adequate information has been found. His book collected many of Interpreters' methods such as: interpretation of the aphorism, opinion and indicative interpretation. The author was distinguished by his numerous knowledges; His book included various sciences of interpretation, hadith and language, and he cited many of the sayings of scholars and commentators in the explanations of the Qur'anic verses to prove his opinion. He mentioned it in the interpretation of the verses, especially the contrast between the Qur'anic verses that are analogous in semantics and pronunciation, and he took care of the explanations of the words and their lexical meanings. In his thesis, the researcher followed the historical descriptive approach in tracing the author's biography, as well as the critical approach in mentioning what the author missed and what he remedied. The researcher also used the method of investigation and commentary in the investigated section; He compared the copies of the manuscript and established the differences between them according to the method of the (İSAM) Islamic Research Center, and documented the sayings of the companions, followers, commentators, jurists, hadith scholars and linguists, and attributed them to their sources. Among the most important results that he concluded: the author took a lot from the book of Tafsir al-Qurtubi, and relied on it in most of his explanations, sayings and inferences, as well as relied on the interpretation of al-Baydawi, without attributing them in many places. His book also included a large number of weak hadiths, and was distinguished by its abundance of sayings and sayings, which prompted the researcher to follow them in their contexts. Shams al-Din al-Masry was not satisfied with explaining the lexical connotations of words, but was expanding in explaining the semantic differences between words according to their contexts.
