Özet (EN)
Around the 18th century, a process of self-definition and differentiation began in art. It has been a process through which art has questioned not only itself but also everything that relates to life. It was a comprehensive and wide-scope questioning in which art as a unique and particular object has dissolved with the disappearance of the line separating life and art in favor of life.In the modernist era, art ceases to be the imitation of nature finding its own reality. Among many styles exploring this reality, the ready made invented by Dadaist Duchamp brings a new perspective with an anti-aesthetic attack from within life. Though the formalism of the Avant-garde finds in a peculiar way the silent reality of life within the Minimalist object and material, it eventually submits to the discursive content of the Conceptual art. Before Pop Art, Minimalism has marketed the ready-image of the consumer society. Art developing rhetoric?s against the problems of economically developed countries cannot evade being the representative of the global capital. However, though art cannot again achieve the old collaborative conscious of the former times, it tries to show through individual attempts and using the new means of expression of interdisciplinary approaches, how through the media the postmodernist society has turned the viewer into a consumer. Before that, it tries to subvert its own market. Sometimes it launches effective attacks using the means of the media it opposes, or it reveals the codes of the world of concepts. Another issue dealt with in contemporary art is that of identity. The dialogue/monologue with the other creates mostly a separative consciousness.Though ceramic art seems, prima facie, away from this structure, it exists on the border separating life and art. Historically always an object of use, ceramics poses to the sphere of art around the 1960s as ironically art goes the other way wanting not to be differentiated from the world. In this sense ceramics has always been a part of the world. Perhaps we need to reconsider this historical process from an interdisciplinary perspective so that we can find many concepts that would be of use in contemporary art.
