Abstract (EN)

The use of ceramics in architecture is a method applied since time immemorial. Throughout history, in interior and exterior spaces, people have constantly used ceramics, and this method has been used as a means of communicating the culture, emotions, thoughts, education level and politics of the era, while at the same time it has maintained its feature of being a communication language that conveys important information about the daily life of the people of the period. Also todey, "Ceramic Wall Panels" meet its spectators in countless open and private spaces in modern architecture. The reason for the creation of Ceramic Wall Panels is to create a new narrative language visually, not to serve the needs-based functions, and adding value to the place aesthetically. In this work titled "Surface-Space Relations and Application of a Ceramic Wall Board," ceramic art examined together with the concept of space and spectators, and discussed in terms of architecture. Research is in the form of a report of a ceramic wall panel application. The report consists of two parts. In the first section called "Ceramic in Architecture," the theoretical framework generated by including space, surface, artwork, and spectators' relations. In the succeeding part, "the Road Map" of the Ceramic Wall Board study was explained under the title "Application Example." In the light of these applications, narrations and exemplifications made and Artistic Ceramic Wall Panel construction stages provided, and the application process was clarified. As a result of the research. Erciyes University Medical Faculty is permanently installed in Orthopedies and Traumatology Service. Our art, which is effective in determining the cultural identity, has been presented to the audience taste with an original expression language by making references to the past and the future, and by adhering to traditional and bringing a contemporary perspective in the process of cultural change and the production of design. The research was explained and supported with visuals, and the working process was shared in detail in order to be an example for the later researchers. Ceramic wall panel met its audience in its new space.
