Abstract (EN)

This research's primary purpose is to examine high school students' leisure time exercise participation (LTEP), subjective well-being and self-sufficiency based on their gender, grade and academic success. Secondary purpose is to determine the relationship between subjective well-being and self- sufficiency and leisure time exercise attendance, subjective well-being and self-sufficiency by level of leisure time exercise participation. This research consists of 784 students whom were chosen, by using simple random sampling method from random sampling methods, from Adem T.A.L (located Muratpaşa district) which is selected by convenience/incidental sampling method.İn research, data gathered by" Leisure time exercise questionnaire (LTEQ)", "self well-being scale"(collage form), "self sufficiency scale for children" and "personal information form" which is prepared by researcher. For analyzing the data, frequency and percentage from descriptive statistics were calculated. Since data don't show normal range, in statistic calculations in dual comparison Mann Whitney U test, in multiple comparison Kruskall Wallis test and in relations between variables Spearman Brown Correlation coefficient techniques were used. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 package programme. According to findings, it was found that male students' leisure time exercise participation, emotional and general self-sufficiency were higher than females. Leisure time exercise participation, subjective well-being, social, emotional, and general self-sufficiency did not show significant differences based on grade. In academic self-sufficiency, 9th and 10th grade students' academic self-sufficiency was found significant higher than 12th grade students.Whereas significant differences were not found between students' leisure time exercise participation, subjective well-being, social and emotional self-sufficiency based on academic success, academic and general self-sufficiency was found significant difference. According to leisure time exercise participation level, inactive (not being enough active) students' subjective well-being, social, emotional, and general self-sufficiency was lower than middle active and active students. Middle active students' academic self-sufficiency was higher than inactive and active students. While there wasn't significant correlation between leisure time exercise participation and self-sufficiency, in the positive way significant correlations were found among subjective well-being, social, emotional and general self-sufficiency. Key Words: Leisure Time, Exercise, Subjective Well-Being, Self-Sufficiency, Adolescent.
