Role of the state in capital accumulation process: The Turkish case (2002-2018)

The aim of this study is to examine the role of the state in the capital accumulation process in Turkey in the period 2002-2018. To achieve this goal, Bob Jessop's theoretical approach is driven. The study has a radical critical perspective beyond mainstream economic analysis. The importance of the study is an effort to explain the Turkish economy from a radical critical perspective around economic and political relations between 2002 and 2018. The study consists of three main sections. In the first chapter, the role of the state in the capital accumulation process is theoretically discussed. In the second part, conceptual framework and tool box are defined for Turkey based on this theoretical framework. In the last chapter, the role of the state in the capital accumulation process in Turkey between 2002 and 2018 is explained around the conceptual framework and tool box developed in the second part. Contrary to neoliberal ideas, the state greatly affected the course of capital accumulation through economic, legal and political arrangements between 2002 and 2018.
