Özet (EN)
Children's literature deals with many events and situations that children experience and can experience in real life. Quality works written for children improve their thinking skills and language skills. In addition, these works also have an important place for personality development and social development. In different processes of social life, people may experience differences of opinion for various reasons. These differences of opinion can also cause some conflicts between people. Children's books not only support children's language skills, cognitive, affective, social and moral development through the fictions they contain, but also contribute to children's awareness of conflicts and conflict resolution processes. Based on all this, in this research, 16 children's books published between 2016 and 2021 by Şermin Yaşar, one of the contemporary writers of children's literature, were examined in terms of interpersonal conflict resolution processes; The causes, solutions and conclusions of the conflicts in the books were investigated. Document review, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. Descriptive analysis method was used to analyze the data. At the end of the research, 399 interpersonal conflicts were identified in Şermin Yaşar's 16 children's books. It was observed that the cause of these conflicts mostly stemmed from different values (238), followed by unmet psychological needs (137). It was determined that the most used conflict resolution style was the use of force (149) in resolving conflicts, followed by withdrawal (102), other elements (65), compliance (57), compromise (23), and cooperation (3). It was observed that the most conflicts ended with win-lose (267), followed by other (73), win-win (35) and lose-lose (24). When the findings obtained from the research were evaluated, it was determined that the conflicts in the books were mostly resolved through conflict resolution methods such as using force, retreating, and complying, and ended in win-lose.
