Abstract (EN)

Ectopic pregnancy is the most important cause of maternal mortality in underdeveloped and developing countries, but not in developed countries.Any reason that delay tarvel of fertilized ovum in tube may cause ectopic pregnancy.there are many factors under etiopathogenesis. The cell-free, nude and double-helix structured DNA, which joins circulation for reasons such as cell necrosis and programmed cell death (apoptosis) and is obtained by the purification of plazma or serum samples in the circulatory system, is called free DNA (fDNA). Pregnant women have amount of % 5 free fetal DNA in their blood circulation and this ratio may rise in pathological conditions. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of free DNA quantity in maternal blood, in diagnosis and treatment of ectopic pregnancy. This study was performed with 30 patients with ectopic pregnancy and 30 first trimester pregnants serving as controls without any medical problems who have admitted to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Gaziantep University, Faculty of Medicine between January 2011 and July 2011.We could not find any difference between two groups in terms of DNA absorbance. Thus, we assign that DNA absorbance measuremet is not a suitable way for early diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy.
