Özet (EN)

Objective: The aim of this study; The aim of this study is to determine and evaluate the results of diaphragm breathing training on voice in patients diagnosed with functional voice disorder by VLS and ENT specialist in the ENT clinic. For the purpose of objective evaluation, the s time, z time, s / z ratio, maximum phonation time, phonation section / ratio and vital capacity air flow rate / volume are the aerodynamic parameters that we have included in our study. Aerodynamic measurements are air pressure and air flow velocity / volume measurements that provide information about the volumes and capacities of the lungs involved in phonation. The aim of this study was to compare a number of objective measurements with high reliability and validity in evaluating the effectiveness of voice therapy by comparing the diaphragm before and one month after the diaphragm. Materials and Methods: Between December 2018 and May 2019, 60 patients with the diagnosis of functional voice disorder, aged between 18-65 years and 60 women and 30 men were included in the study. Maximum phonation time, s duration, z duration and s / z ratio were measured using audacity audio analysis program. The recordings were taken in the sound laboratory of ENT Clinic of Dicle University Faculty of Medicine. Vital capacity (VC) and phonation fraction / ratio were measured by plethysmograph with pulmonary function test (PFT). Results: There was no statistically significant difference in terms of maximum phonation time, s duration, vital capacity, phonation coefficient / phonation ratio (p> 0.05) before and after therapy. A statistically significant difference was found in terms of z duration, s / z ratio before and after therapy (p <0.05) (Table 42). Conclusion: Significant differences in z duration and s / z durations before and after diaphragm respiration training revealed that respiratory therapy should be included in therapies to be performed in functional voice patients. Key Words Functional voice disease, Aerodynamic analysis, Diaphragm breathing training.
