Teachers' views about the sound-based sentence teaching method (The case of Erzincan)

The general aim of this research is to determine the positive and negative aspects of the Voice Based Sentence Teaching Method, which was put into practice in primary school (2005-2006 academic year), in line with the opinions of the primary school teachers. Accordingly, teachers were evaluated according to their gender, age, professional experience period and the type of school they graduated from. The universe of the study consisted of all first grade elementary teachers working in Turkey. The sample consists of 65 first grade teachers working in 30 primary schools located in Erzincan Central province and villages. A Voice Based Sentence Method Perception Scale questionnaire consisting of 47 items was applied to teachers. Average, Standard Deviation, Percentage, Frequency, t Test and Kruskal Wallis-H test were used in the analysis of the data obtained from the survey using the SPSS program. It has been revealed that teachers' perceptions of Voice-Based Sentence Teaching Method have similar views in terms of gender. When examined in terms of age group, it was determined that young teachers who started their profession feel more ready for Voice Based Sentence Teaching Method. When it was researched in terms of professional seniority and graduated school type, similar opinions were found. It was stated that the teachers participating in the study were not provided with adequate training regarding the Voice Based Sentence Teaching Method.
