Ef'âlu'r-rasûl in the work of Şevkin's Irsadu'l-Fuhûl

The shari'a law sources that mujtahids confederated are consist of Quran, Sunnah, Ijma and Qiyas. Ef'âlu'r-rasûl which is a fundamental part of Sunnah, is a substantial topic of Usûlu'l-fıkıh. Obtaining religious provisions from the second source which is Sunnah, shows the importance of the subject. Şevkânî, who does not accept taqlid/imitation in Sharia provisions and adopts the principle of determining judgments through ijtihad, sees a significant difference in fıkıh and Usûlu'l-fıkıh as in other sciences. One of the areas in which he exhibited this difference is his work "İrşâdü'l-fuhûl ilâ tahkiki'l-hak min 'ilmi'l-usûl" which is printed. The book is written by using Mazmuc method which is taking advantage of each of the Mutakallim and Fukahâ methods. The book is published in one volume and 16 pages of the book are devoted to the topic of ef'âlu'r-rasûl. In our thesis, in addition to the general opinion about Şevkânî's method, his opinion about ef'âlu'r-rasûl is given. His views on this subject are the inspiration for some approaches that call themselves Salafi, Neo-Salafi or Reformists. In our thesis, the subject of "efâlu'r-rasûl" is being discussed in regard to Şevkanî's book "İrşâdü'l-fuhûl ilâ tahkiki'l-hak min 'ilmi'l-usûl" where he combines Mutkallimun and fukahâ methods. In this context, the concept of ef'âlu'r-rasûl, its parts and related subjects are tried to be analyzed by using a mezmuc/combined method. In our study, the differences and debates between various cults; generally related to the meanings attributed to the concepts are analyzed and presented from Şevkânî's point of view.
