This study is particularly significant as it highlights one of the prominent figures in contemporary Arabic travel literature, Muḥammad b. Nāṣir al-ʿAbūdī, who has made notable contributions to this field through his rich writings and extensive fieldwork. The research's value lies in its examination of the author's experience in Djibouti, which reflects his deep engagement with the cultures of the peoples he visited. This adds a cognitive and human dimension that enhances our understanding of travel literature as a means of documenting social and cultural realities. The study employs a comparative critical-analytical methodology, focusing on textual analysis using narrative and intellectual reading tools while situating the texts within their temporal and spatial contexts. This allows for a comprehensive exploration of Al-Abūdî's experience in terms of style and content.
